Afigya Kwabre South MP Cuts Sod For New Blocks At Buoho Health Centre
The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Ama Appianimaa Salam Damata, has cut sod for the construction of new blocks and renovation works at the Buoho Brofoyedru Health Centre to address years of poor infrastructure and improve healthcare delivery in the area.

The health centre serves residents from about 6 communities in the district but has been operating in an aging and deteriorating facility.

According to staff, the situation worsens during the rainy season when water enters parts of the centre, disrupting care and creating an uncomfortable environment for both patients and workers.
Security is also a major concern. The facility has no perimeter fencing, and workers say some individuals from nearby communities have entered the premises to rob staff, especially during night duties.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Damata said the intervention was necessary because the health workers have the expertise but lack the infrastructure to deliver quality care.“This health centre serves about six communities. I am aware of the challenges here. Though our health workers are committed, they need the right facilities to work effectively,” she said.
She explained that mobilizing resources to upgrade the centre forms part of her commitment to improving health infrastructure in Afigya Kwabre South.

“We are appealing that this project is completed on time. It will improve staff welfare and patient care,” Miss Konadu stated.

“The community will be the ultimate beneficiary. Let us all support this project to succeed,” he urged.
The sod-cutting ceremony was attended by health workers, traditional leaders, assembly members and community members.
The upgrade is expected to provide modern infrastructure, better security and improved working conditions at the Buoho Brofoyedru Health Centre.
