SUAME MP SUPPORTS MARKET FIRE VICTIMS WITH GHS 100,000

The member of parliament of the Suame constituency Lawyer John Darko has donated GH¢100,000 to support traders who lost their shops in the recent fire outbreak at the Suame Post Office Market in Kumasi.

Describing the incident as heartbreaking, Hon John Drako noted that many traders had lost years of savings and investment overnight. “It is devastating to save capital for business only for fire to destroy everything,” he said, assuring his support to continue stand with the victims.

The blaze, which erupted late Tuesday night, destroyed more than 200 shops while no casualties were recorded; losses are estimated to run into millions of cedis.

Suame MP indicated that, he will collaborate with the Municipal Assembly to fast tract the rebuilding of the market for the affected traders.
Hon John Darko underlined since the assembly has all the victims’ data, all the affected traders will receive their stores and shops back after the completion of the market.

Some of the traders who spoke to the press after commending the MP for the support implored him to walk with his promise to make sure that the affected traders get their shops back after completion.
