NAPO Emerges As Kingmaker In NPP After Delegates Conference

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, is increasingly being described as a kingmaker within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the party’s National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
According to party observers, NAPO has become more than a political heavyweight, with his endorsement carrying significant weight among the grassroots.
His influence was evident in the Ashanti Region where candidates he backed, including Regional Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), secured victory in their internal elections.
At the national level, his support for key figures including John Boadu, Justin Frimpong Kodua, Nana B, Kwadwo Bamba, Nana Akomea, and Hawa Koomson has been linked to their strong showing in the just-ended national executive elections.
Party faithful attribute NAPO’s growing influence to his strong connection with the party base. Delegates and supporters view him as a leader who understands their concerns and possesses the ability to unite the party behind a common cause.
With his political judgment, loyalty, and mobilising prowess, NAPO has become a key figure in shaping the NPP’s internal direction as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
For many within the party, the “NAPO Touch” now represents trust, unity, and momentum.
