VEEP LAUNCHES SEED PROGRAMME TO DRIVE STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP AT UPSA

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Friday, May 2, 2026, launched the Students Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) Programme at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), in a push to curb youth unemployment.
The SEED Programme is a flagship government initiative designed to equip students with skills and support to turn innovative ideas into sustainable businesses.
It builds on the Adwumawura Programme and forms part of President John Dramani Mahama’s broader agenda to expand opportunities for young people.
The programme is implemented by the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) under CEO Eric Adjei, in partnership with the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
Speaking at the launch, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang commended the Ministry of Education, Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment, NEIP, and other stakeholders for their collaboration.
She congratulated the first cohort of beneficiaries and charged them to leverage the opportunity to build viable enterprises and contribute to national development.
SEED is expected to provide a structured pathway for students to innovate, create jobs, and drive economic growth, with enterprise placed at the center of youth development.
