NMC inaugurates Ashanti regional media advisory committee

To effectively sanitize and regulate the activities of the media in the Ashanti region, the National Media Commission has inaugurated the Regional Media Advisory Committee.
The six member advisory committee is to ensure to address the complains against journalists and also offensive act the public also do against media practitioners in region
The advisory committee will also have media engagement regularly in the region to offer them capacity building in order to enhance the duties of the media.
The Chairman for the National Media Commission Mr Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo after swearing in of the committee indicated that the task of the advisory committee will play a crucial role in the upcoming general election.
He stated that the functions of the committee will also highlight the need for journalists not to allow politicians to manipulate them for their selfish interests
Mr Paul Adu Gyamfi the regional Chairman for the advisory committee after his acceptance speech encouraged the media to inculcate the habit of doing follow up stories to make the media more responsible and accountable to the society.
The Executive Secretary for the National Media Commission Mr George Sarpong emphasized that the committee will help to address issue of disinformation as the country prepare for the general election.
