Otumfuo @ 25: Racecourse Traders hold clean Kumasi ahead of anniversary
Ahead of the traditional and formal activities marking the 25th-anniversary celebration of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II a major cleaning exercise has been held in Kumasi racecourse Market to keep the area clear ahead of the events.
The exercise put all business activities in the market on hold from 6 am to 12 noon on Wednesday 1st, 2024 to enable all the traders to participate in the general cleaning exercise.
The exercise was led by the market Queen Nana Yaa Kyeiwaa and her executives.
Nana Yaa Kyeiwaa commended the traders for fully participation in the cleaning exercise.
She encouraged traders and the resident of Kumasi to keep their surroundings clean and fully participate in all the activities outlined for the 25th Anniversary.
Nana Yaa Kyeiwaa in an interview expressed satisfaction with the turnout and expressed confidence that, the next cleaning-up exercise which will be held in the next 30days will be much better than today’s event.
Nana Yaa Kyeiwaa and his entourage after the exercise tour the principal streets of the market from racecourse market through Abrepo Junction, through to Adehyie market and other selling point within the racecourse market.
On behalf of the traders, Nana Yaa Kyeiwaa appealed to vice president and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to choose a woman from Ashanti Region as his running mate. She particularly mentioned Hon Akosua Fremeh Opare, chief of staff to be choosing as NPP running mate.
According her, Hon Fremah Opare has helped them a lot especially when all their shops got burnt.
