NAPO TAKES GHANA’S EDUCATION AND ENERGY STORY TO GLOBAL STAGE AT COVENTRY UNIVERSITY

Ghana’s former Minister for Education and former Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, is taking centre stage at Coventry University in the United Kingdom today for a major public lecture.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh is the Special Guest for the high-level academic forum which comes off at 11:30 a.m. at The Hub, Coventry University.

He will speak on the theme: “Education, Energy and Sustainable Development: Preparing Future Leaders for Africa’s Transformation.”

The lecture is expected to focus on the critical nexus between education, sustainable energy and leadership development as catalysts for Africa’s economic transformation.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh, a former Member of Parliament for Manhyia South and the Vice-Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 general elections, is expected to draw on his experience leading two key sectors in Ghana.

During his tenure as Education Minister, he spearheaded the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy, while as Energy Minister he led key reforms in the power sector.

He will be joined on the platform by distinguished academics, Prof. Andrew Turner and Prof. Jenna Ward, for what is expected to be an engaging intellectual dialogue on Africa’s future.

The event has attracted participants from academia, the Ghanaian diaspora, and students of Coventry University.
