Hannat Foundation organises free breast screening for three communities in Bosomtwe

Hannah foundation in collaboration with Ahmadiya Muslim hospital has marked this year’s breast cancer awareness month with a free breast cancer screening for female in three communities in Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti region.

The screening forms part of the foundation’s commitment to ensuring good health and wellbeing for the public.

Over 200 beneficiaries including female students took part in the breast screening activity held at Abono, Obbo and Adwafo.

Mrs Aisha Serwaah Antwi, medical practitioner of Asante Bekwai Almadiyya Muslim hospital emphasized the importance of regular checks so that any complications are identified and treated as early detection saves lives.

she encouraged women to disabuse their minds about myths of breast cancer but rather seek medical attention whenever they observed anything unusual in their breast after performing self-examination on it.

Mrs Aisha Serwaah Antwi indicated that during the screening, they detected that some of the women have breast lumps and they have been advised to see a Gynecologist for early treatment.

Country director for Hannat foundation Ghana, Mrs Aisha Asantewaa Boadu was excited about how the residents mad the screening remarkable.

She noted that, aside the free breast screening, the foundation also donated exercise books to the students in the area to improve their studies.

The beneficiaries also commended Hannat foundation for their generosity.
