Teachers forum group goes wild against mother unions over unlawful deduction
The convenor for aggrieved teachers, Mr Kwadwo Adarkwa has expressed his dissatisfaction with regards to the decision made by the national teaching council to deduct Ghc150,00 from their salary as a means of giving them training workshop.
According to him this directive made by the national teaching council is a strategy to extract money from them of which they don’t agree with.
He expressed his grievance to the leadership of national association of teachers at Ejisu Abankuro during a peaceful demonstration.
He stressed that if the NTC wants them to aquire more knowledge in their teaching profession , they should provide them with course outline to guide them to study via online and also set exam questions for them rather than collecting money from them.
” We are not ready to pay any fees to learn when we can do that without any cost involved”.
He added that the NTC should rather channel their energy on ensuring that they do what is expected of them such as compiling the list of teachers, publishing them in national newspapers and also helping the minister to develop legislative instruments that will spell out how NTC should work.
“The education regulatory bodies act 10,2020 mandates NTC to compile a list of teachers and publish their names in newspapers. The act also mandates the NTC to go to the minster,help him develop a legislative instrument that will spell out how NTC should work therefore they should focus on that”.
