THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD EMPLOY 2020 BATCH FOR THEM TO FILL IN THE VACANCIES OF THOSE WHO TRAVELS ABROAD

Ghana registered nurses and midwives association led by Mrs. Perpetual Ofori- Ampofo and her executives has commission the Nightingale Educational Complex at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

The program was honoured by some prominent personnel’s namely: Nana Prof. Oheneba Boache- Adjei Owoahene II special guest of honour, Professor Otchere Addai- Mensah CEO Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo president Ghana registered nurses and midwives association, Dr. Emmanuel Obeng CEO. Trinity Hospital Kumasi, Mr. Jones Afriyie Anto Ashanti Regional chairman and other representatives from different institutions were also present.

The three (3) storey building facility fitted with classroom blocks, Library, Computer lab, Dinning hall and others. The structure which is well furnished and ultra modern style “will help the nurses and midwives to be at peace when ever they are at work and their wards too are in school” says the president.

Speaking at the ceremony Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo applause their predecessors and outgoing executives for making this edifice comes into reality, and also the government support they gave them.

She also gives thumbs up for her noble profession association members “as we sit here today who in the regional council or district level or any level will allow their tiny allowance to be taking away from them for any project, who will, but we GRNMA did it” she said.

As a president my biggest headache is those who don’t have passion for the job. ” Because they have been pushed by their parents or guidance to do it, and they do it anyhow. Such person don’t have zeal and passion for the profession and always maltreating their patients ” Mrs. Perpetual lamented.

She continue that workers whom have zeal and passion for the work their smiling alone can cure a patient illness without giving him or her medicine. So they should all show professionalism towards everything they do and meet their standards in terms of care that they give, and also abide by all protocols. In all curing and saving lives is our Hallmark and main objectives. “If patience is not there we too we are not” She said.

Mrs. Perpetual pleaded to the government that they should employ 2020 yeah group of nurses whom are still in the house waiting to be posting. “Staying home for long will reduce the practical knowledge that they have aquired during their academia which will not help the profession, and there is pressure and stress across all the units and wards due to those who travel outside”.

Their vacancies are still available, so they should employ the 2020 batch to come and occupy that space for their work should go on smoothly.

I am pleading on behalf as an association president that the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Health should team up and employ 2020 year group of nurses and midwives to fill in the vacancies left behind.
