Ghanaians urged to embrace and promote TVET education to control importation

Dr. Daniel Kwabena Danso, Head of the Department of Fashion and Textiles Education at Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development, AAMUSTED, has urged Ghanaians to support the government in transforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country.

According to him, the TVET educaticatalyz for job creation and entrepreneurial development of the citizenry, hence, all and sundry should embrace and promote the government agenda transformation.

Speaking at the AMMUSTED street fashion show, Dr. Daniel Kwabena Danso stated that if the youth embrace TVET education, they will acquire skills that will make them self-employed to reduce the unemployment burden from the government.

AMMUSTED street fashion show is an exhibition program for students of fashion and textiles education to display their designer’s products for the public.

He underlined that if TVET education gets a collective promotion, it will curb the importation of fashion tetextileroducts into the country.

Dr. Kwabena Danso indicated that fashion students at AMMUSTED apart from skills acquisition are also trained on how to market their products using the new media.
Added that fashion and textiles graduates from the school can also be teachers at various Technical Universities to teach the same programme.
