UPDATE ABOUT ANTHRAX DISEASE IN GHANA
Ashanti Region should keeps on consuming livestock animals from Kumasi Abattoir without any panic

Just recently the Ghana Health Service announced that there is some disease called Anthrax that has taking effect in the Upper East Region two district, namely: Bansi in Binduri District and Sapeliga in the Bawku West District that cause the movement of Ruminants banned in Upper East Region.
Dr. Emmanuel Kofi Dzotsi the Upper East Region Director of Ghana health service confirmed one person dead while 11 others are affected with suspected Anthrax after consuming the carcass of dead cattle, and four cattle have died in the affected community whilst contact tracing is still going on. So this put Ghanaians as whole into fear and panic.
Yesterday Newspointgh.com news went to Kumasi Abattoir to have interactions with the workers to know the preparations and measures they have put in place for their noble costumers.
In an interview with the Kumasi Abattoir productions manager Mr. Michael Tongvan, he says that since the outbreak they have not encounter a single case from the Ashanti Region and they have never let livestock loads from Upper East enters their vicinity.
And all goods coming across from the length and breath of the country that want to enter their territory, the veterinary services examine it well before allowing them to enter inside. So all customers and consumers from Ashanti Region and it’s environs should keep calm because they are there for them.
Ibrahim Wahab Tikuma Chief butchers association of Ghana Vice President also says that before they slaughter anything the veterinary doctors examine and cross check the particular animal very well, and after slaughtered they do postmortem for couple of an hours to check if it is not contains with any kind of diseases before they will give it out for them to sell.
Mr. Tikuma also pleaded with his Muslim brothers that since tomorrow is Islam celebration they shouldn’t kill their animals in various homes, because they are not expect to detect any disease inside. So they should bring it to the Abattoir for them to slaughter and double check it for them.
