Presbyterian Church Of Ghana, Asante Presbytery Holds Faith Peace Symposium
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Asante Presbytery, has held a Peace Faith Symposium ahead of December 7th, 2024, in general election.
At the PCG Peyer Memorial Congregation, Bantama in the Ashanti Region, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong speaking under the theme: “Building Strategic Partnerships to promote Peaceful and Inclusive Credible Elections-The Role of the Church,” tasked eligible voters especially the political actors to ensure this year’s elections are conducted in free,fair and transparent manner in devoid of ceremonies and violence in the upcoming elections.
He advised the Ghanaian voter to expertise a high level of understanding and see the need to approach the elections with peace to elect their preferred candidate without any form of intimidations and attacks.
Rev. Dr. Frimpong Opuni urged the clergy, the Muslim community, to join hands with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to facilitate peaceful polls.
Speaking during the event, the chairperson of Asante Presbytery, Rev. Samuel Ahima-Yeboah urged the media to be measured in their reportage during the elections, reminding that, media houses are not mandated to declare elections rather than the Electoral Commission that is mandated to announce and declare elections.
