Afigya Kwabre North Gets 250 New Mono Desks To Ease Classroom Pressure

Teaching and learning in Afigya Kwabre North District just got a boost, as 250 mono desks procured through the Common Fund Secretariat have arrived for distribution to schools across the district.

The furniture delivery is part of ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between new school infrastructure and the resources needed to make them functional.

According to the District Assembly, the desks will be sent to newly constructed school facilities to fully equip them. Some will also be allocated to older schools that have been struggling with furniture shortages, where pupils have had to share desks or sit on blocks.

“You can build the nicest classroom, but without desks, learning is still a struggle,” a district official noted. “This intervention directly tackles that problem.”

The initiative is expected to create a more dignified and conducive learning environment for both pupils and teachers, reduce overcrowding, and improve concentration in class.

District authorities say this is one of several steps being taken to match infrastructure with the right facilities.

The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education by ensuring that schools not only have buildings, but also the tables, chairs, and learning materials needed for quality outcomes.

“Afigya Kwabre North is moving forward  one classroom at a time,” the statement added.
