COKA PLEDGES TO REORGANIZE ASHANTI NPP, TARGETS RECLAIM OF LOST SEATS AND BIGGER 2028 VOTES

Ashanti Regional NPP Chairmanship aspirant, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has pledged to lead a full reorganization of the party in the region with a clear target: reclaim parliamentary seats lost in previous elections and deliver a bigger presidential vote in 2028.

Speaking to journalists after successfully undergoing vetting at Hasta Lodge on Tuesday, the final day of vetting for regional executive aspirants, COKA said rebuilding the NPP from the grassroots would be the foundation of his leadership.

“The Ashanti Region remains the electoral engine room of the NPP,” he said. “But we cannot take that for granted. We lost seats that should naturally be ours. We must go back to the base, fix our structures, and position the region to deliver an even stronger performance in 2028.”

According to COKA, his administration will prioritize unity, discipline, and effective organization. He outlined plans to work directly with constituency, electoral area, and polling station executives to improve communication, mobilization, and resource support at the base.

He expressed confidence that with a united front and renewed commitment, the NPP can win back all parliamentary seats lost in Ashanti while significantly increasing support for the party’s 2028 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“2028 is not business as usual. It is about reclaiming what belongs to us and returning the NPP to government,” COKA stated. “That requires all hands on deck. We must put aside our differences and work toward one common goal.”

The aspirant appealed to delegates to give him the mandate on August 15–16, 2026, promising inclusive leadership focused on expanding the party’s support base and preparing the NPP for future electoral success.

The regional vetting exercise is part of the NPP’s process to select executives ahead of internal elections across all 16 regions.
