Hope Restored: Offinso South MCE Moves to Complete Long-Abandoned Classroom Block
After years of uncertainty and stalled development, Abofour African Faith Junior High School in the Offinso South Municipality is finally on the path to infrastructural transformation as the Municipal Chief Executive takes decisive steps to revive an abandoned classroom project.
For a prolonged period, students of the school have endured harsh learning conditions — sitting in dusty classrooms without proper flooring, while some teachers conduct lessons under a temporary palm-frond shed due to the absence of a completed school block. The situation has significantly impeded effective teaching and learning, raising concerns among parents and community leaders.
The three-unit classroom block, initiated several years ago, was left at the lintel stage and subsequently abandoned, leaving the school community frustrated and disillusioned.
In a renewed commitment to educational development, the Municipal Chief Executive, Frank Owusu Amoah, through the Offinso South Municipal Assembly, has intervened to change the narrative.
As an immediate relief measure, the Assembly has supplied bags of cement to help provide temporary flooring for the dusty classrooms, creating a more conducive environment for academic activities.
Speaking during his visit to the school, Mr. Owusu Amoah assured stakeholders that the abandoned three-unit classroom block will be completed before the close of the year. He reiterated that improving educational infrastructure remains a top priority and pledged that no viable project within the municipality will be left to deteriorate.
The intervention has sparked renewed confidence among residents, with many describing it as a bold step towards restoring dignity and quality to teaching and learning in the community.
