Unite for Cleanliness: Amansie West District Assembly Leads by Example on National Sanitation Day

The Amansie West District Assembly, in collaboration with traditional leaders and security agencies, has successfully observed National Sanitation Day with a massive clean-up exercise at Manso Antoakrom. Hundreds of residents participated in the exercise, which aimed to promote environmental cleanliness and prevent disease outbreaks.

The exercise saw a strong show of unity among local authorities, security agencies, and residents, all working hand-in-hand to improve hygiene and environmental safety. Participants undertook sweeping of major streets, desilting of gutters, and clearing of refuse dumps.

District Chief Executive, Hon. Prince Manu Morris, commended the massive turnout and lauded the collective spirit displayed by all participants. “Cleanliness is a shared responsibility. We must all understand that a clean environment ensures good health and promotes development.”

Nana Okyere Darko Ampem II, Chief of Manso Antoakrom, praised the government for instituting the National Sanitation Day initiative and urged residents to take the exercise seriously. “Sanitation is everyone’s duty. When our surroundings are clean, our health improves, and development follows.”

Again, the Assemblyman for Antoakrom, Michael Amankwah, has expressed gratitude to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for organizing the recent massive clean-up exercise. He noted that Antoakrom has benefited from four clean-up exercises, with the fourth one being the most impressive.

Michael Amankwah praised the exercise’s impact and pledged to extend the initiative to other communities within the Amansie West district.

The Amansie West District Assembly has pledged to continue strengthening sanitation programs, enforcing environmental by-laws, and promoting community education campaigns to sustain a culture of cleanliness.

The collective effort demonstrated by the people of Amansie West served as a shining example of civic responsibility and unity in action, reinforcing the district’s commitment to building a clean, healthy, and environmentally sustainable society.
