Ashanti Regional Council of State Elections Re-Run: Group Demands Military Involvement

A group has made a pressing demand for military involvement in the upcoming Ashanti Regional Council of State Elections re-run,citing concerns about the integrity and security of the electoral process.
The group is calling for the military to guide the electoral process to ensure fairness, transparency,and safety, emphasizing on how people were beaten during the first run of the elections despite the presence of the police.
They are demanding robust security measures to prevent violence, intimidation,or disruption of the electoral process.
The group which involves assembly members in the Ashanti Region want the military to provide neutral oversight to ensure that the elections are free from partisan interference.
Speaking to the media in a press conference today, February 14,2025,Nana Obuor Sika ,the campaign team manager for Nana Nkansah Boadu,Agric Nzema Hene, indicated that they will resist any attempt by the electoral commission to change the voter register for the elections.
He further called for the change of venue for the elections from the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), stressing on how the electoral process was distracted even in such a security zone.
