NDC Zongo Youth Caucus Ignites To Secure YIn Ashanti Region
The Ashanti Regional Zongo Youth Caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is intensifying efforts to secure votes in the region. The group aims to capitalize on the current economic challenges and achieve over 30% of the votes in the traditionally Stronghold region.
Through uniting young individuals from various Zongo Communities, the caucus is optimistic about the NDC’s prospects in the 2024 elections. They cite appealing policies such as the 24-hour economy initiative as a key factor.
At an event in Kumasi, Abdul Basit Yusha, the Ashanti Regional Communication Officer for the Zongo Youth Caucus, expressed the youth’s dedication to the party’s cause. Yusha emphasized the caucus’s relentless efforts to engage and mobilize people within the Zongo Communities to contribute to the party’s success. He also encouraged the Zongo youth to maintain peace and stability throughout the electoral process.
Alhaji Saeed Sinare, a former Vice Chairman and Ambassador to Saudi Arabia under Mahama’s administration, identified the Ashanti Region as a key battleground for the NDC. He stressed the need for early mobilization and vigilance at polling stations to prevent electoral malpractice.
Sinar critiqued the current Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government, citing economic challenges like currency depreciation, high unemployment, and inflation as evidence of their incompetence. He endorsed former President John Mahama’s policies, including the 24-hour economy, as effective solutions to address the country’s pressing issues.
Sinare expressed confidence that the NDC’s performance should exceed 30%, citing the uninspiring appeal of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as the NPP’s flagbearer and running mate, respectively.
