Students Loan Trust Fund Embarks on No Guarantor Sensitization Program at Ejisuman SHS

The Chief Executive officer of the Students Loans Trust Fund, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah met with the final year students of Ejisuman Senior High School in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region and talked to them about the existence of the Students Loan program and the No Guarantor policy.

The sensitization program which happened on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the School’s Great Hall, was aimed at educating the students on the accessibility of the loan and how to acquire funds to support the education of the students when they gain admission to tertiary institutions.

During the interaction with the students, the CEO explained that the ‘No Guarantor ‘ Loan Scheme is Government’s commitment to enhancing access to education in the country, especially for needy students, which he described as a game changer.

He said students currently do not need a guarantor to access the loan unlike previously when the guarantor was an obstacle in accessing the loan.

Now with your admission and Ghana card, you can apply for the loan to cater for your educational expenses.

He appealed to the students to take full advantage of the ease with which one can access the loan and acquire it to cushion their education.

According to the CEO, Government has since the assumption of office in 2017 made education accessible to the Ghanaian child with the introduction of the Free Senior High School policy and the student loan as its backbone.

Nana Agyei Yeboah underlined that Government by this loan policy has relieved parents of the burden they had to go through in funding education for their wards in the country, adding that the need to go through the stress of looking for money to cater for their wards has been minimized significantly with the introduction of the policy.

The CEO indicated that prospective tertiary students like the SHS 3 students will have the chance to access the loan and realize their dream.

Nana advised that no matter your circumstance of birth you can get out of poverty through education and that the students should have the confidence that, no matter the homes they are coming from, they can still make it to the tertiary should they take their studies seriously and pass well.

Nana Agyei Yeboah as part of his visit to the school and in a goodwill gesture, donated a digital piano to the Ejisuman Senior High School.
