Ashanti NPP Needs a Working Secretariat, Not Politics of Favor – Awuku

As the NPP in Ashanti prepares for its regional executive elections, Hon. Michael Amoah Awuku is making a case for a more responsive, organized, and results-focused Regional Secretariat.
According to his campaign, the Ashanti Region remains the heartland of the NPP and deserves a secretariat that works for the grassroots, not just during elections.
The campaign team says the next Regional Secretary must move beyond politics of patronage and focus on building strong party structures from polling station to regional level.
“Delegates are looking for competence, not connections. They want a secretariat that solves problems, communicates effectively, and supports constituencies year-round,” a campaign spokesperson stated.
Hon. Awuku is being touted as the candidate with practical experience. Having worked closely with constituency executives and polling station executives over the years, his team argues he understands the challenges at the base.
“This is not about seeking a title. It’s about answering a call to serve. A call backed by years of walking with the grassroots and dedication to the party,” the statement added.
Key promises include:
1. Digitizing party records for easy access
2. Regular training for constituency officers
3. Timely communication between regional and constituency levels
4. Welfare support systems for polling station executives
With 2028 in view, the campaign says Ashanti must lead by example in organization and voter mobilization.
Vote #3 | Hon. Michael Amoah Awuku for Ashanti Regional Secretary
“A strong secretariat means a strong region. A strong region means victory for the NPP,” the team concluded.
