Kumawu Annigya gets new chief, pledges to assist the community with developmental projects
Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong has been installed as the new Chief of Anninagya in Sekyere Kumawu Traditional Area of the Ashanti Region.
His installment ceremony took happened on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Sekyere Kumawu Palace.
The Omanhene of the Sekyere Kumawu Barima Sarfo Kweneboa Kodua swore the new chief in at a durbar of chiefs and people drawn from all parts of the traditional area.
He advised the people of Anninagya to unite and rally behind the new chief to speed up the development of the town.
He said even though Anningya is one of the old towns in the area, it lacked many social amenities.
Barima Tweneboa Kodua was hopeful, however, that with Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong on the scene, things would begin to take on a new shape, regarding the town’s development.
Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong assured the people that he would work in close collaboration with the chiefs, elders, and people to bring about improvement in the standards of living in the area.
He promised to lay bare his experience and expertise in the traditional area and ensure that the traditional area attracted investors.
One of the pressing needs Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong said he will work on it now is the building of a palace for the Anninagya community and also helping complete the abandoned computer laboratory for the school in the community
