Otumfuo Sumankwaahene Urges Men to Support Wives, Be Responsible Fathers on Father’s Day
On Father’s Day, Otumfuo Sumankwaahene, Life Patron of EKK Charity Foundation, Barima Asabre Kogyawoasu, called on Ghanaian fathers to be more supportive and responsible in raising their children.
Speaking during a courtesy visit from the EKK Charity Foundation, which honored him at his office, Barima Asabre Kogyawoasu emphasized the importance of men assisting with household chores to support their wives.
“Assisting with household chores is a sign of love, care, and responsible fatherhood,” he said. “By working together with their partners, men can create a more balanced and harmonious home environment, which is essential for the well-being of their families.”
Barima Asabre Kogyawoasu noted that Father’s Day is not as widely celebrated as Mother’s Day, partly due to the perceived irresponsibility of some fathers. However, he expressed optimism about the positive changes emerging in society, with more men taking on their responsibilities and being actively involved in their children’s lives.
The Otumfuo Sumankwaahene highlighted some key factors that contribute to fathers’ irresponsibility, including lack of positive role models, societal pressures, and economic difficulties.
“By working hard to support their families and promoting positive change in the home, men can play a vital role in shaping the next generation and building stronger, more resilient communities,” he said.
The message serves as a reminder to men of the importance of being supportive partners and responsible fathers, and promoting positive change in their families and communities.
