Kumawu MP Commissions Nurses’ Quarters, Pledges Support for Needy Patients

The Member of Parliament for Sekyere Kumawu, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has reaffirmed his commitment to quality healthcare delivery in his constituency with the commissioning of a new nurses’ quarters at Kumawu-Bodomase.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Hon. Anim said the project is aimed at improving the living conditions of health workers and motivating them to stay and serve in the community, especially in underserved areas.

He used the occasion to make a passionate appeal to health professionals to place human life above financial considerations.

According to him, no patient should be denied urgent medical care simply because they cannot pay on the spot.

“Healthcare is about saving lives. Money should not be the reason someone loses their life. If a patient genuinely cannot afford to pay, my office is open — inform me and I will intervene to support,” Hon. Anim assured.

He explained that while upgrading health facilities is important, true progress will only be achieved when all residents, regardless of their financial status, can access care without barriers.

He called on nurses, community leaders and other stakeholders to work together to build a more responsive and compassionate health system in the constituency.

Hon. Anim further pledged to continue investing in health infrastructure across Sekyere Kumawu to ensure that every community has access to improved health services.

The new nurses’ quarters, he noted, will not only provide decent accommodation for staff but also improve staff availability and efficiency at the Bodomase health facility.

He finally urged residents to cooperate with health workers and support efforts aimed at promoting the health and wellbeing of the entire constituency.
