FROM UNEMPLOYED TO EMPLOYED: AMAGASHI HOSPITAL PUSHES FOR HERBAL NURSING TRAINING
As unemployment continues to affect many trained nurses in Ghana, Amagashi Herbal Hospital has proposed a new solution that could create fresh employment opportunities within the country’s growing herbal healthcare sector.

The Chief Executive Officer of Amagashi Herbal Hospital, Apostle Dr. Samuel Amagashi, has called on the government to establish a dedicated Herbal Nursing College to train professionals specifically for licensed herbal hospitals across the country.
According to him, many nursing graduates complete school with the hope of securing jobs in government and orthodox health facilities, but the limited number of vacancies leaves many qualified professionals unemployed.

He believes a specialised herbal nursing training institution would equip nurses with the skills required to work in Ghana’s traditional and herbal healthcare sector, enabling licensed herbal hospitals to recruit more trained personnel while strengthening the country’s healthcare delivery.
Apostle Dr. Amagashi made the appeal during the commissioning of a new facility at Amagashi Herbal Hospital at Suame Maakro in Kumasi, where he reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to expanding quality herbal healthcare services.

Also addressing the gathering, the Chief of Nkwantakese, Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, who represented the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, urged Ghanaians to prioritise their health by visiting hospitals for regular medical check-ups.
He advised the public against self-medication, stressing that early diagnosis and professional medical assessment remain the safest way to prevent complications and ensure patients receive the right treatment.

The newly commissioned facility is expected to enhance healthcare delivery at Amagashi Herbal Hospital as it continues to expand its services to the public while advocating greater investment in Ghana’s herbal medicine industry.
