ADOMAKO URGES NPP UNITY, OBSERVES MINUTE’S SILENCE FOR WONTUMI AFTER VETTING
Aspiring Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Francis Adomako, has called for unity and discipline within the party as it prepares for future elections.
Speaking to the media after his vetting at Hasta Lodge on Tuesday, Mr. Adomako led party members in a minute’s silence in solidarity with the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, who was recently sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by an Accra High Court in the Akonta Mining case.
“The minute of silence is to show that we stand together as a party, especially in difficult times,” he said. “This is the time for us to put aside our differences and work to rebuild the NPP.”
Mr. Adomako described himself as a hardworking and results-oriented party administrator. He pledged to strengthen communication, improve coordination, and deepen grassroots organization across the region if elected Regional Secretary.
According to him, discipline and unity will be critical to restoring the NPP’s strength in Ashanti and positioning the party to return to power.
He appealed to delegates to give him the mandate to serve, promising to bring diligence, integrity, and effective leadership to the office.
The vetting forms part of the NPP Ashanti Region’s process ahead of the August 15–16, 2026 regional executive elections.
