Edubiase Police Launch Road Safety Campaign to Promote Helmet Use

The new Edubiase Police Commander, DSP Asiedu Braimah, has launched a road safety campaign urging motorcyclists and passengers to wear helmets at all times in a bid to reduce road crashes and save lives.
The initiative got a major boost when philanthropist Bismark Kwabena Adjei donated helmets to riders in Subriso, a community in New Edubiase. The donation targets riders who cannot afford protective gear and is expected to strengthen the culture of road safety in the area.
Speaking during the campaign launch, DSP Braimah stressed that many lives could be saved if wearing helmets becomes a habit for both riders and passengers. He noted that motorcycles remain a major means of transport in the area, making safety a top priority for the police. He also cautioned the youth against riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Mr. Bismark Kwabena Adjei, who presented the helmets, said the donation was motivated by the rising number of motorcycle-related accidents in New Edubiase. He urged riders to value their lives and treat helmet use as non-negotiable.
Mr. Gyamfi Samuel, Senior Physiotherapist at New Edubiase Government Hospital, also addressed the gathering. He advised the public to exercise caution on the roads, noting that injuries often become more severe by the time victims reach the hospital due to lack of immediate protection.
Police say the campaign will continue with education, enforcement, and further partnerships to ensure riders comply with helmet regulations and road safety laws.
