From Palace to Projects: Agric-Nzema Chief Hands Over 13 Vehicles for Community Use
Kwadaso Municipality, Ashanti Region In a move aimed at boosting local development, Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, chief of Agric-Nzema, has equipped his divisional leaders with 11 tipper trucks and 2 buses to help their communities generate income and fund their own projects.
The donation on 11th May 2026 was part of celebrations for Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s 75th birthday, but the chief framed it as more than symbolic. Speaking at the handover, he said the vehicles are tools for economic empowerment.
“Each community can now run these trucks commercially,” Nana Boadu explained. “The revenue should go back into roads, schools, and programs that improve lives here.”
Ten trucks went to divisional chiefs, one to the palace servants, and the two buses were placed under the Agric-Nzemah Traditional Council for community use. A separate bus was also given to Agric-Nzemahemaa, Nana Adwoa Takyiawaa, and another set aside for general community transportation.
The chief said the idea came from watching Otumfuo’s long record of supporting education and development through the Otumfuo Education Fund and other initiatives.
“I am learning from my uncle, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,” he said. “If we resource our leaders properly, they can solve problems without waiting on others.”
Nana Boadu, who is also a road contractor, has a track record of funding infrastructure in Agric-Nzema from his own resources. He noted that the sub-chiefs already have free accommodation under his leadership, and this donation is the next step in making the traditional area more self-sufficient.
Beneficiary chiefs and the queen mother said the gesture was unexpected but timely. They described it as a sign of trust and said it would reduce their dependence on outside support.
“We have been given the means to work for ourselves,” one chief said. “Now it’s on us to use it well for our people.”
The donation adds to Agric-Nzema’s growing reputation as one of Kumasi’s fastest-developing residential areas, driven by both private and traditional leadership investment.
