Atwima Mponua MP Funds Construction of Police Station To End Robbery Attacks On Kotokuom Community

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Honourable Seth Osei Akoto, has cut sod for the construction of an ultramodern police station for kotokuom community to bring a perpetual end to the incessant armed robbery attacks on unsuspecting locals along the Kwanfinfin stretch.

Speaking in an interview during a brief groundbreaking ceremony, Honourable Osei Akoto said the siting of this operational police base would intensify security operations along the stretch and restore safety to the local economy.

According to him, the architectural design of the project, as approved by the Ashanti Regional Police Command, features a Complaint Office, Criminal Investigation Department Office, Holding Cells for Male and Females, an Evidence Storage Unit, amongst other essential unit.

He disclosed that the project which is exclusively financed with his Common Fund is expected to be executed in eight months. He has, therefore, appealed to the contractor on site to offer employment for the youth in the construction.

Expressing his utmost gratitude to Honourable Seth Osei Akoto for honouring his promise to the stool, the Odikro of Kotokuom, Nana Kofi Agyemang Badu I, said he is thrilled to bits by the scale of the project and the swiftness with which the intervention has been made.

Recounting the harrowing episode of how criminals lay ambush to rob commuters of their valuables, he expressed optimism that residents of Kotokuom, as well as those from the adjoining communities, would be able to commute at any hour of the day upon completion of the project.

He has, therefore, issued a stern caution to the youth to refrain from armed robbery and all other forms of antisocial behaviours. Additionally, Nana Kofi Agyemang Badu I seized the moment to offer thanks to the former District Chief Executive of Atwima Mponua, William Darko, for being an instrumental part of this feat.

The community expects the police station to bring lasting peace and security activities.
