KUMAWU MP COMMISSIONS 6-UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK FOR NKWANTA M/A ZION PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Member of Parliament for Kumawu constituency, Ernest Yaw Anim, has commissioned a 6-unit classroom block for Nkwanta M/A Zion Primary School. The school had been facing challenges with a dilapidated and unsafe building, which posed a risk to the pupils.
The MP, who is also the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, lamented that heavy rainfall had caused damage to some schools in the constituency, rendering them unsafe for learning. He appealed to corporate Ghana and individuals to support efforts to improve the education system.
“This is just the beginning, and bigger things are on the way for Sekyere Kumawu education,” he said. He also emphasized the need for cultural maintenance, urging pupils to keep the school clean and warning against encroachment on school property.
The Deputy Director in charge of Supervision and Monitoring Kumawu, Nana Kwame Obeng Frimpong, commended the MP for his dedication to improving education in the district and also urged school authorities to organize income-generating activities to supplement government support.
The Headmaster of Nkwanta M/A Zion Primary School, Mr. Kwabena Agyei, thanked the MP and appealed for additional facilities, including a teachers’ quarters, computer lab, toilet facility, sports equipment, and security fencing.
The commissioning of the classroom block is seen as a significant step towards improving education in the area, and stakeholders are calling for continued support to enhance the school’s infrastructure.
