AKROFROM WARD 1 EMERGES CHAMPION IN U-17 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

The Adansi Akrofrom District has once again proven its growing reputation as a powerhouse of youth football talent, with the Inter-Zonal U-17 Football Tournament coming to a thrilling close.

The tournament, part of the Ashanti Regional Youth Football Development Project, saw 15 teams and 11 electoral areas participate in a day of intense competition and high-quality football. Akrofrom Ward 1 emerged as the winner, taking home the coveted cup.

Tournament scouts and coaches identified about 40 outstanding players for their skill, composure, and discipline. These young talents will soon be pruned down to a final 20- man squad to represent Adansi Akrofrom District at the Ashanti Regional Inter-District Championship.

The initiative aims to promote discipline, teamwork, and discover the next generation of stars who can represent Ashanti and Ghana at large. “This initiative is not just about football; it’s about discipline, teamwork, and discovering the next generation of stars who can represent Ashanti and Ghana at large,” organizers emphasized.

The NADMO Coordinator and Personal Assistant to the DCE, Festus Ekow Quarshie, commended all participating zones, coaches, and supporters for their commitment, unity, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. He lauded the youth for their dedication and enthusiasm, noting that Adansi Akrofrom’s spirit continues to shine as football becomes a powerful movement for development, hope, and opportunity.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Gariba Mustapha, and the Member of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Zumah, have played a leading role in driving youth participation, supporting local football initiatives, and promoting sports as a tool for development and social cohesion.
