Government urged to implement right policies to guide usage of AI to improve education

The government has been urged to craft policies to guide and streamline the usage of artificial Intelligence to improve quality education in the country.

Chief of Feyiase Nana Addae  Gyamera who made this suggestion noted that, artificial Intelligence has come to stay and has a significant role to play in Ghana’s education system.

However, it is laudable for the government to meet stakeholders and other policy writers to make sure there are stringent policies and measures in place to guide the utilization of artificial Intelligence.

Nana Addae Gyamera  speaking to the media during the International Day of Education themed: Preserving Human Agency In A World Of Automation AI and Education observed by OTUMFOU  OSEI TUTU II FOUNDATION.

Nana Addae Gyamera said that, as AI has its advantages to the Education sector, its abuse will have negative consequences in our education sector hence, the need for the government to implement measures to prevent fraudsters from manipulating the AI for their dubious interest

Nana debunked claims that, the introduction of AI will eradicate human capital in national development.

On his part, the chief executive officer for Adwinsa Publication who has been an ardent supporter of Otumfou Osei Tutu II Foundation Mr Kwaku Oppong Amponsah after advising students of the importance of social media also urged the current government not to scrap the free Senior High school.

He however asked the government to do the necessary review of the programme to make the Free SHS sustainable.
