A/R: Piase Youth Demonstrate, Point Fingers at Kuntenase Manhene for Halted Projects
The Youths and leaders of Piase in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region have on Friday, December 20,2024 demonstrated over a number of projects that have been halted in the community.
According to them, projects such as Health facility, nurses quarters, teachers quarters, community center and Kings palace which started by the chiefs and the community members are long overdue for completion.
Speaking to OTEC news, Sarkodie Samuel in an interview, the Youth leader Benard Kusi Poku indicated that the area is growing at a fast pace and these facilities are needed to cater for the needs of the people.
“These projects are long overdue for completion, Piase is developing so fast and need these facilities to cater to the peoples’ needs”,he said.
Woga Atta,as the youth leader popularly Known noted that after confronting the contractor whom the contract was awarded,he revealed that Kuntanase Manhene Barima Ogyeabour Amankwaa Adunan || has asked him to stop the projects of which they do not understand why the paramount chief would make such call.
He therefore appealed to the Kuntanase Manhene Barima Ogyeabour Amankwaa Adunan to allow the contractor to complete the projects, emphasizing that he shouldn’t be an enemy to the community’s development.
Bernard Kusi Poku ( Wofa Atta), further appealed to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to Intervene to ensure peace and order in the community and also enhance development of the community.
Meanwhile the Residents of piase said, the halt of these projects is affecting the development in the community.
“It is so disturbing that both male and female share the same ward at our health facility,and so we plead that all halted project are allowed to continue especially our health facility”,one resident said.
“There was a time my pregnant wife who was in labor was naked in the only room of the clinic and one man was rushed into this same room on an emergency after he was bitten by a snake”, another resident noted,describing the incident as barbaric and calls for immediate continuity of the health facility.
