Hon Asenso Boakye inspects road projects in Ejisu constituency as Govt begins rehabilitation of major roads

Roads and Highway Minister and Member of Parliament for the Bantama constituency Hon Francis Asenso Boakye has pledged government commitment to completing the Ejisu town roads project before the year ends.
Roads and Highways Minister, Francis Asenso Boakye made this promise during his visit to Ejisu Municipality to inspect ongoing road projects on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
Some major town roads in some of the communities in the area are now under rehabilitation and the roads Minister stressed that its construction is not because of the pending by – by-election.
During the Minister’s visit, it was revealed that the government is undertaking about 32 road infrastructure projects within the Ejisu Constituency which are being carried out by the Urban, Feeder, and Highway Departments.
Some of the community Contractors are currently working on projects including Abankro, Donyina, Onwe, and Adako Jachie.
The Bantama MP indicated that, the contracts were awarded in the past three months when the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Ampontuah Kumah was still alive.
“Currently, about 32 projects are going on in the municipality, these projects include urban roads, Ghana Highway authority, and Feeder roads projects. I’m satisfied with the work going on, the contractors are some of the best we have.
“I’m confident they will continue to work very hard so that we can complete the project as scheduled. None of these projects was awarded in the last three months. These are not by-election projects, the past three years some of the projects have been going on. The MP who passed on was instrumental in making sure that these projects were designed and constructed. Rest assured; these are not by-election projects; these are normal projects the ministry is implementing.”
Hon Francis Asenso Boakye used the occasion and appealed to electorates in the Ejisu constituency to rally behind Lawyer Kwabena Boateng in the upcoming by-election to continue the good works of the demise MP.
Ejisumanhemaa Nana Yaa II Asantewaa implored the Ministry to charge the contractors to give them befitting roads which will take years before it will be deteriorated.
Nana Yaa Asantewaah also reiterated the need for Ejisu constituents to support the new NPP parliamentary candidate.
