Chiefs Conniving With Chainsaw Operators To Destroy Our Forest Reserve”- FIAG CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of forest industry association of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Asamoah Adam has said that, some chiefs are conniving with chainsaw operators to unlawfully cutting down trees in the forest reserve.

He said the development has affected the timber business in the country.

According to him, a time may come where Ghanaians may have to use metals for roofing as a result of the illegal activities in the forest reserve.

He appealed to the government and other stakeholders to support the fight against illegal mining, chainsawing and other destructive activities in the forest reserve.
