Donuasohene has organize a cleanup exercise for his community in a quest to boost sanitation
Nana Akwasi Agyekum || Ejisu Donuasohene in the Ejisu Municipality of Ashanti has under scored the need for the central government to provide every household in Donuaso with a dustbin to boost sanitation and personal hygiene.
Nana Akwasi Agyekum emphasize that the provision of dustbin by the central government will help reduce filth and chooked gutters which breeds insects and harmful animals in the community. “We need sanitation companies to compete with Asedu and Zoomlion to make sanitation relevant and lucrative” he said.
Nana Agyekum again said the absence of dustbin in the community is a trait to the lives of the people “I am scared of a possible cholerae and malaria outbreak in my community this is the reason I’m appealing to the government to provide dustbins for every household in Donuaso community” Nana said.
He further said the old style of communal labour should be revisited to keep our environment clean and tidy. “In spite of our tight schedules and well meaning jobs we have to rekindle the spirit of communal labour in our various communities to avoid deadly outbreaks which might results into on timely death” Nana lamented.
Nana Agyekum advise his residents to cultivate the habit of proper sanitation practices and personal hygiene to keep the community clean and healthy. ” I advise you especially the youth to keep your surroundings clean and tidy and also have the mindset that cleanliness is practical and should be treated as such” Nana Agyekum said.
