NPP WOMEN ORGANIZER, LAUNCHES A SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR THE CONSTITUENCY
The. New Patriotic Party ( NPP) Constituency Women’s Organiser for Ejisu Madam Vida Adjei Boateng in collaboration with Aseda Foundation has organise skill development programme for the youth in the Constituency.
It was under the theme ” Empowering Ejisu Constituency through Skills Training”
The seven-days intensive skills training programme by the Aseda Foundation and Constituency women organizer attracted over Two Thousand (2,000) participants
The participants undertook training in the making of washing detergents, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair food, liquid soap, wig weaving, bio digester, power zone, beads making among others in geared towards Empowering the youth especially women to make them financially independent and self-reliant.
In an interview with the press, the Constituency women organizer for Ejisu, madam Vida Adjei Boateng charged the participants of the area to take full advantage of the opportunity to learn new skills which will help them improve their earning power and income level.
Madam Vida Boateng emphasize that, the training is not limited to only NPP members but would ensure every youth especially women in the district to benefits from the program to put them on the path to generate income and be able to provide for themselves and their families.
She also motivate them to be able to stand on their own and have something for themselves and help their community and the country as a whole.
The Constituency 2nd vice NPP Chairman, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng is optimistic the initiative would drive the economy of the district, adding that party would sponsor more of such initiatives to liberate the constituents from poverty.
He stated that, the skills we learn here will be a tool that can never be taken away, and I am a firm believer that the only assets one can possess are knowledge
“I will entreat you all to make this learning experience a priority and to take full advantage to learn a skills that will benefit you, your family and the community at large” He added.
On his part the Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Hon Samuel Oduro Frimpong also
expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organisers especially Member of Parliament for Ejisu Hon John Kumah for such initiative.
The MCE continued that most skills are acquired at a higher cost but this training is free. He therefore urged the participants to persevere and also attach seriousness to the programme to come out with flying colours.
He also indicated that youth unemployment is a global challenge that was exacerbated by the Corona Virus Pandemic. Again the youth should be empowered to start their businesses irrespective of the economic challenges.
