NPP ASHANTI REGIONAL ELECTIONS COMMITTEE CLOSES NOMINATIONS AHEAD OF AUGUST POLLS
The Ashanti Regional Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party has officially closed nominations for aspirants seeking to contest various regional executive positions in the party.
The nomination process ended today at the Regional Secretariat in Asokwa, Kumasi, bringing to a close weeks of intense lobbying and filing by party faithful across the region. The exercise sets the stage for the highly anticipated Ashanti Regional Executive Elections scheduled for August 15–16, 2026.

Speaking to the media immediately after submitting his nomination forms, the current Ashanti Regional Organizer and aspiring Regional Secretary, Dr. Francis Adomako, reaffirmed his dedication to the NPP and to the people of Ashanti.
Dr. Adomako pledged to use his experience in party organization to strengthen internal structures and deepen grassroots mobilization across all 47 constituencies in the region.
“My focus is clear,” he said. “We must build a more disciplined, united and data-driven party at the grassroots. When our structures are strong, our results will follow.”
The aspiring Regional Secretary emphasized that the 2028 general elections remain the ultimate goal for the party.
He pledged his commitment to work tirelessly to mobilize more votes for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and to ensure that Ashanti continues to deliver its traditional massive numbers for the NPP.
“Strengthening our party structures and grassroots mobilization in Ashanti will be key to securing victory for the NPP in 2028,” Dr. Adomako stated. “Ashanti is the engine room of the party, and we cannot afford to take our foot off the pedal.”
With nominations now closed, the Elections Committee is expected to begin the vetting process in the coming days. Delegates will then head to the polls on August 15–16, 2026 to elect new regional executives who will steer the affairs of the party in the region for the next four years.
Party executives have called on all aspirants to campaign peacefully and in unity, stressing that the success of the NPP in 2028 depends on a cohesive and well-organized Ashanti Region.
