Gengimed Mineral Water Unveils State-of-the-Art Production Facility in Ashanti Region, CEO Advocates Financial Backing for 24-Hour Economy Drive
In a significant boost to industrial expansion and employment generation in the Ashanti Region, Gengimed Mineral Water has officially commissioned its modern water production facility, signaling renewed momentum within Ghana’s manufacturing landscape.
The inauguration ceremony, presided over by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, drew key stakeholders, industry players, community leaders, and invited dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the CEO described the government’s proposed 24-hour economy policy as a visionary and transformative economic framework capable of redefining productivity and stimulating sustainable national growth.
He indicated that the Water Producers Association of Ghana fully endorses the initiative, noting that extended operational hours could substantially enhance output across the manufacturing sector.
However, he underscored the urgent need for deliberate financial intervention from government to empower local producers to effectively participate in the policy’s implementation.
According to him, accessible funding and strategic fiscal support would enable water production companies to expand infrastructure, upgrade technology, absorb additional labour, and increase nationwide distribution capacity.
He emphasized the indispensable nature of the water industry, reiterating that “water is life,” and therefore must be treated as a critical pillar of public health, economic stability, and social well-being.
On regulatory compliance, the CEO called on the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to intensify monitoring mechanisms and decisively clamp down on unlicensed and illegal operators whose activities threaten consumer safety and undermine the credibility of compliant businesses.
He stressed that rigorous inspection regimes and strict enforcement of standards will safeguard public health and protect the integrity of certified producers within Ghana’s growing water production industry.
The commissioning of the Gengimed Mineral Water facility marks a strategic milestone in the region’s industrial advancement and reflects the increasing role of private sector participation in driving economic transformation.
