Atwima Mponua NPP Primaries: Peaceful Voting Underway

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in Atwima Mponua Constituency, Ashanti Region, are ongoing, with delegates casting their votes to choose a candidate to lead the party in the 2028 general elections.

The incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon Seth Osei Akoto, has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for conducting a smooth exercise, praising the District Electoral Commissioner, Ms. Cynthia Tuffour and her team for ensuring order and transparency at the polling centre.

Hon Akoto has appealed to party delegates to maintain the calm atmosphere, emphasizing the need for unity after the internal contest. “The peace we have seen so far must continue so that, the party remains united after the primaries,” he said, urging delegates to exercise their franchise peacefully. Security personnel have been deployed to the polling centre to maintain law and order, while EC officials supervise the process to ensure the integrity of the election.

Voting is ongoing without major incidents, with delegates exercising their right to choose their preferred candidate. The NPP primaries are a crucial part of the party’s internal electoral process, aimed at selecting parliamentary candidates for the 2028 general elections.
