Unity and Support: Irene Naa Torshie Addo Donates to Adum Market Fire Victims”

In a heartwarming display of compassion and solidarity, Hon. Irene Naa Torshie Addo, Former MP for Tema West Constituency and Immediate Past Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), has donated One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢100,000) to support traders affected by the devastating Adum Blue Light market fire. The donation was made through the ReneAddo Foundation on Friday, May 2, 2025.
The Adum market fire, which occurred on March 21, 2025, left many traders devastated, with years of savings, goods, and capital reduced to ashes. Hon. Addo’s donation aims to help the affected traders get their livelihoods back.
During her visit to the scene, Hon. Addo expressed her sympathies to the affected traders and called on other private businesses to assist in their recovery. “I am donating this GH¢100,000 to the victims, to support them getting their livelihoods back,” she said.
Hon. Addo also took the opportunity to call on New Patriotic Party members to be united, emphasizing the importance of solidarity within the party.
The donation is part of the ongoing efforts by philanthropists, political leaders, and other stakeholders to support the Adum market traders affected by the fire.
