Bawumia Was Never An NPP Man – Asiedu Nketia
The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has revealed that the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,was once a full member of the NDC, emphasizing that he was never an NPP man, adding that the vice president’s education abroad was sponsored by the NDC.
According to Mr. Asiedu, the Vice President,Dr. Bawumia was able to secure a scholarship through his father who was the chairman of the council of state of the NDC years ago. “The purpose of the party Dr. Bawumia’s Education Abroad was to groom him for the office of Governor for the Bank of Ghana which was achieved”,he said.
He noted that after Dr. Bawumia returned from abroad completing his course,Dr. Kwabena Duffuor who was the Director of Bank of Ghana then employed him at the Bank just to pursue the agenda they had already set.
Supporting his statement with facts,he proved by revealing that “Dr. Bawumia’s mother was the NDC’s Women’s Organizer for Walewale,a senior brother to Dr. Bawumia was Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso under Prof. Mills’ government.”
He went on to note that,”two other young brothers of Dr. Bawumia have all contested for positions in the NDC before, stressing that the two requested to contest the seats of Parliamentary Candidate and District Chief Executive respectively whereas all were interviewed by himself, General Mosquito.”
“Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,the president of the Republic of Ghana after winning presidential primaries opted for Dr. Bawumia as his running mate, despite agitations from some leadership of the NPP”,he added.
Disputing what he terms as claims by the NPP that the NDC is a party for Northerners,he stated that the NPP has realized the importance of having Northerners in their party by appointing and voting Dr. Bawumia as the flagbearer of party who he claims was an NDC man.
He therefore entreated Ghanaians to vote for the former president and flagbearer of the NDC, his Excellency John Dramani Mahama, adding that he has proven himself as president in terms of development.
