Oforikrom NDC to petitions special prosecutor to demand accountability of abandoned Municipal Assembly office

The New Democratic Congress in Oforikrom constituency in the Ashanti region has announced to petition the special prosecutor Lawyer Kissi Agyaben over what they describe as reckless financial mismanagement of the Municipal Assembly.
According to the NDC members in the constituency, the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly has wasted GHS1.5 million on storey block meant to be the Assembly office but now abandoned.
The abandoned structure according the Oforikrom NDC is part of the government Assembly offices for newly created Municipal and Districts in 2018.
Addressing newsmen in front of the structure, the NDC communication officer in the area Jery James Sukah said the structure was scheduled to complete in 12 months which it started in 2018 at estimation of GHS 2.5 million but the Municipal Assembly has failed to complete it and have decided to relocate the office to Oforikrom girls schools which according to them it is a waste of the money and financial loss to the state.
The Oforikrom NDC said, they will not give up but press on till it reach special prosecutor to demand accountability of the abandoned project.
The NDC Parliamentary candidate for Oforikrom constituency Anwel Sadat Ahmed for his side expressed worry on the situation and reiterated the need for accountability of the abandoned project.
