Chief of Atwima Agogo entreats government to complete Agogo – Twedie road

The Chief of Atwima Agogo area in Atwima Nwabiagya South District of the Ashanti region Nana Osei Kwame III has appealed to the government to speed up the construction of Agogo to Twedie road.

Agogo – Twedie road is awarded to Asabea construction for face-lift but the road is yet to be completed by the government.

The Chief said the government needed to urgently construct the road to open up the corridor to commuters and commerce.

Nana Osei Kwame noted that drivers who travel to Sefwi used the same road whenever there is trafic on Abuakwa high high. Hence if the government fix the Agogo to Twedie road it will control heavy traffic that used to happen on the Abuakwa road.

Therefore Nana Kwame Osei III is imploring the government to speed up the constructions of the road to help motorists and residents in the area.

The Chief for Atwima Agogo was speaking to the newsmen during the 66th Independence day celebration in the area.

Commenting on security situation in the area, Nana Osei Kwame remarked that as part of his effort to enhance protection in the area he has started construction of police station which is at it stage of roofing but because of financial constraints the facility is yet to completed.

Nana indicated that he has appealed to the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive in the area but no assurance has been given to complete the project.

A situation Nana Osei Kwame III described it as unfortunate and entreated the government to help complete the police station.

For their side residents in the area, also reiterated that the roads in the area are in deplorable state but there is no sign from the government to construct the roads.

They expressed worry of neglect and called on government to construct their bad roads to make their living conditions better.

The Municipal Chief Executive for the area Hon Awuku delivering his speech during the 66th independence day enumerated number of developmental projects the government has secured for the area.

He mentioned amongst others, access to a portable water the government has provided to some of the various communities in the area.

Hon Awuku reacting on the plea of the residents about the face-lift of their roads, asked them to exercise restraint and pledged the government commitment to completing the bad roads.
