Hon Alan Kyeremanteng contesting as an independent presidential candidate for 2024 elections impossible – Prof Smart Sarpong

Director of Research Innovation and Development of Kumasi Technical University Professor Smart Sarpong doubts that Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng would contest as an independent presidential candidate in the 2024 General elections.
Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, one of the flagbearer hopefuls of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) yesterday withdrew from the race.
Announcing in a press statement yesterday Hon Alan Cash amongst other reasons mentioned that the race seems to be deliberately skewed to favour one of the candidates.
His withdrawal, has heightened mixed reactions from some political analysts believe that Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng is likely to contest as an independent presidential candidate in comes 2024 elections.
In his reaction to Hon Akouko Kwarteng on Kessben Maakye, Professor Smart Sarpong insisted that based on his observation the former trade Minister contesting as an independent presidential candidate is impossible.
He explained that Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng who is seen as one of the founding fathers of the party would not make such a decision.
Added that it would surprise him should Hon Alan Cash declare his intention to contest as an independent presidential candidate.
According to Professor Smart Sarpong, Hon Alan Cash is one of the key players to help the party win the next election and after the victory, the party will need his experience to constitute the NPP government after 2024.
Professor Smart Sarpong further urged the supporters of Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng to quickly organise themselves to either join Hon Kennedy Agyapong or Dr Bawumia to make the November 4, delegates conference peacefully.
